GFC build marine plywood base

So the challenge is that you'll get some moisture and dust in your truck bed with a GFC (go fast camper), no matter how much you try to seal the GFC panels and doors. Just accept that and build accordingly. I'm using marine grade Okoume plywood, wrapped in grey coin flooring laminate I got from Home Depot. just goto Home Depot and search for grey coin flooring. I got a roll 25' long and 4' wide. The downside is it's heavy. and getting the adhesive to bond has been a challenge. Contact cement may have been a better choice. First on the plywood i sealed the edges with epoxy. cured epoxy is not uv stable, but I'm wrapping the plywood in the grey coin laminate so no problem; it'll never see the Sun. I also filled the plywood edges with epoxy mixed with wood flour. that did wonders. I then used my narrow 1/4" crown stapler to help fold the grey coin laminate over the edges. Limestone sika flex to fill in any gaps (in the concrete...

Monster Cart

31 July update I lowered the rubber wheels so there's more ground clearance. I also lowered the middle shelf and the bottom shelf so the folding arms don't block the shelving as much. The bottom shelf is a bit buried now, so I only put stuff down there to get things out of the way. 29 july 22 This folds up! Also, I made this entirely from scap wood and leftoever hardware i had in the house. Nothing new was used to make it. click here for more photos The larger wheels above are likely a temporary addition, I'll revert to the small casters below when done working on the truck probably. It's lighter to carry and folds up better with the caster wheels, but the caster wheels don't roll well over lawn or my paver sidewalk. i especially like the use of these fence gate anchor pins. They're normally used vertically and they're meant to keep fence doors locked in place. But I made them work.

AC for the Basement

Finally decided to try putting a small window AC unit in the big awning window I installed in the basement way back when. I've been running the dehumidifier, but it's been making the basement about 80 degrees. I think it turned out ok, but more importantly it seems to be helping cool things off in the basement a lot. I added some blue painter's tape for airgaps and to help keep it in place in big wind gusts. The dehumidifier.

Officially Retired

It's official! I'm retired. Hasn't sunk in yet, but I've already noticed that I've been doing little projects around the house. Declutterring, and general organization work that I normally wouldn't bother with because Weekend & downtime was so precious when working. Now I have so much more time, it changes how you prioritize things. Anyway, on Sunday we traveled up to Vermont to free camping around Somerset on a small spur road called fr83. First time I went to Somerset reservoir too. Just did a short paddle Sunday because we needed time to go find camp. Slept in my GFC camper for the first time Sunday night. Other than forgetting my mouthguard (I always forget something), it was an uneventful night. The mouthguard helps prevent snoring and teeth grinding btw. I slept on an air mattress in the GFC. It comes with 2inch foam but I wouldn't recommend trying to sleep on just that. I partly chose the GFC approach because...
